Joe Baumgartner Harry August 24, 2010
Harry was one of the people I loved to see when I would enter the scene shop on a daily basis.  He made everyone feel like family because of his sense of humor.  If you had any question, no matter how stupid, you could go to Harry.  Sure he would make fun of you for it if it was stupid enough, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Even though I did not know Harry for as long as my fellow theatre classmates, he made an impression on me that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.  He lived his life to the fullest, and I feel honored to have known him and to have called him my friend.

He will live on in the hearts of all of those that loved him, and we all miss him dearly.

Sincerely,
Joseph Baumgartner

A Parable of Immortality I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, " There she goes! " Gone where? Gone from my sight . . . that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, " There she goes! " there are other eyes watching her coming . . . and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . . " Here she comes! " ~Henry Van Dyke In the hearts and minds of all he smiled upon.

Rebecca Flores Harry August 21, 2010
Alma and family, it was such a pleasure to know Harry. Working in the theatre scene shop most of my first semester at Bradley, Harry never once hesitated to help me, or anyone else for that matter, out on the task at hand. Harry always exemplified a positive attitude, work ethic, an interest to teach others, a fantastic sense of humor, a genuine happiness, and (of course), those fabulous sassy t-shirts that I always talked to him about. Harry was a kind, generous, and loving figure in the theatre department who I know none of the students or faculty will ever forget. It's impossible to forget Harry. Alma and family, you will be in our thoughts and prayers. SIncerely, Rebecca Flores Bradley '12

Harry was one of the bravest, strongest men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was always there, willing to help out, tell a hilarious story, and make sure you learned something along the way. Saying that he loved life is an understatement. He seized life with an iron grip, then made it work for him. I'll always remember him, and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
Bob Lloyd Will always remember you harr August 21, 2010
In harry's short time at bradley university theatre, he touched so many of us. Within a few days of being at Bradley he was everyone's friend. Harry always had an interesting story to tell you and came in every day with a smile on his face. He was such a great man and an amazing teacher. In the scene shop, if you were asked to do something and weren't confident with what you were doing, he would stop what he was doing and come over and help you learn how to do what you needed properly, no matter what it was. He was always there to help and will be so greatly missed. Harry has been a blessing to have around inspiring us all, I know I learned a lot from him and am sure he has helped so many more than we can even know. We will miss you Harry, it won't be the same at Bradley without you.
Andrew Kuhlman Miss ya friend... August 21, 2010

Harry was the kind of guy who made connections easy. He was one of the best men I have ever met and him and I had a connection...a friendship. From working on the Morton Civic Choir Concerts with him to hugging him after every theatre opening night, he was a man who cared and a man who loved. I will always remember him as a strong asset to the theatre, a great faculty member, a loved family man, and an amazing friend. I love ya Harry...thank you for making the past three years awesome.

Jeremy Behrens Harry August 21, 2010
Alma and family, Never have I met a man so in love with life. Working with him at the BU Theatre was by far a highlight of my career there. With the patience of a saint, the humor of the world's most gifted comedian, and a work ethic to boot, much of the work done on Bradley's stage can be contributed to Harry. He will be sorely missed in our department, but we have peace of mind knowing he will forever be looking over our own little world at the Hartmann center. All my condolences to you, Alma, and to all the members of Harry's family. We were all so lucky to have met a man as amazing as Harry. Sincerely, Jeremy Behrens Bradley '11
Janice Gerlach Harry August 20, 2010
Alma and family,

Building/painting/hammering has never been my strong suit, in fact I was almost always fustrated while working in the scene shop.  But Harry was so patient and kind with me, taught me how to do my work correctly, helped me with projects, and was hilarious and sassy all the while.  He made going to scene shop fun.  And I appreciated that so, so much.  I'm going to miss him.

He was invaluable to us,
Janice Gerlach
